Visiting Pilots

We require that all visiting pilots check in before flying on the Mid North Coast. Not only is this a way of introducing yourself (or welcoming you back), it also helps promote safe flying and emergency management. There is no cost or fee to visiting pilots.

Each one of our flying sites are unique, with their own factors that must be considered before you make your decision to fly. Local knowledge from one of our safety officers is the best way to help you understand these considerations. Our published site guides provide a broad overview of the individual sites.

A Current SAFA Membership is a requirement to fly at our sites to ensure we meet our obligations with stakeholders (i.e. Council, SAFA, Landowners). Log in to the SAFA members page here to check your current membership status.

Communication plays a vital role in flying safety and emergency management. Our region is unique, with a variety of changeable microclimates and a high volume of student pilots under instruction. To promote a culture of safety and communication, carriage of a working UHF Radio with SAFA Frequencies is a requirement for all visiting pilots regardless of experience.

We look forward to seeing you on launch! Happy and safe flying.
